Central America - A new trip begins!

It has been a while since I have been writing about my travels, as you can see from my ancient travel archive on here. I hope to be able to post some insights on here during my trip through Central America, starting the day after tomorrow - and I hope you enjoy them :).

Sitting on a hill behind Lamusi, Tibet

This is what I wrote quite a while ago, when I was still in Tibet: It finally made it's way onto the website! I really have been enjoying myself during the last weeks. Since Yunagshuo. Right now I'm sitting on top of the hill behind the little Tibetan village Lamusi, looking down on the monastery and the village on one side, with snow-capped mountains and green forest in the background. On the other side is a neverending landscape of valleys and hills coloured in shades of different brown and dotted with sheep and Yak herds chewing on tasty dry grass and mooing away. Over my head are FOUR vouchers circling, one of them so close that I felt like he was eying me for whatever reason... They are so beautiful. I love this village. I just love these rural places. No tourists, especially no CHINESE tourists but just the ordinary life of tibetan people in their traditional clothes. Women i.e. wear HEAVY chunky silver belts with huge orange stones on them around big full-length fur jackets. Also their necklaces are made out of these huge and heavy stones. Even their hair is covered with metal ornaments. It looks so chunky and uncomfy, I can't believe that Jeans and Fleece haven't convinced them yet. But then also, nobody knows why Chinese still use chopsticks to "eat" soup and rice when there is the great invention of spoon and fork...
